sip N knit gathering sunday aug. 4th 5-8 pm

Cost: FREE

Come bring your knitting project and enjoy the garden. I will have chairs, but bring your favorite beverage to sip on while we connect and create. I will also have hot water available for tea. It’s just fun!

Herbal Basics with cindy ruprecht sat aug 24th 12-4 pm

$40

Description: An introduction to harvesting, drying, preparing & preserving herbs from the garden. This is a beginner class and will be hands on, so wear clothers to get dirty. We will be harvesting herbs for teas and talk about their properties. Also, we will be harvesting fresh herbs to make infusions, decoctions, oils, vinegars, & tinctures.

No experience necessary, all materials provided.

Space is limited to 5 for this hands on class.

Bio: Cindy Ruprecht is Certified Modern herbalist, from The American Herbal Institute 2002. She has been growing and working with plants ever since she has had a patch of earth to steward and call home. Cindy also has a Naturalist certification from Wilderness Awareness School, Duvall WA, Kamana Program and enjoys wild crafting and harvesting native plants for food, medicine and connection to place.

 

Mandalas with Amber Zimmerman September 8th 2019 1-4pm

Description: A mandala is a sacred image which reveals inner truth about you and the world around you. Creating a mandala offers a creative, yet structured way to work through your personal experience of life. We will learn the history of the mandala and interpret what that means for us individually by creating our own personal mandala design. We will be using emotional color theory to guide us in our process as we create with watercolor and permanent markers.

All tools and supplies provided to create your Mandala. Come as you are. Class size min 5, max 10

Bio: Amber Zimmerman is a fourth generation woman artist. Art is a way of life for her and her family. Amber enjoys working with a variety of mixed mediums to create symbolic art that celebrates the connection and sacredness to the cycles of nature. Amber earned her B.A. from The Evergreen State College in Environmental Art, in 2000. She has been active in the local arts community and has participated in several group and solo gallery shows throughout Washington State.  In addition to her studio work, Amber teaches art classes to local youth, adult step by step painting classes and mini retreats, and is an avid volunteer in her community. She lives an authentic life in a creative handmade house in the forest of Cascades with her husband and two daughters.

hat felting with lynx vilden Oct 27th 11:30 - 4pm

Description: Learn to make a beautiful, durable and ecological felt hat from pure sheep’s wool. All materials provided, no experience necessary. Class max 8.

Bio: Lynx Vilden, internationally renowned primitive living skills educator and practioner. She travels around the world to Africa, Europe, Scandinavia & the US, teaching and studying traditional skills. Her cabin, Living Wild, is located in the Methow Valley. Here is a snipet from her website. Our programs focus on re-kindling and applying the practical skills based on ancient knowledge, experiencing the inter-dependency necessary in community living, and nurturing an appreciation for the Earth as a living organism. We do this through intensive hands-on wilderness living skills training, teaching people how to harvest and transform the gifts of nature for everyday needs such as tools, fire, shelter, food.... in a conscientious and sustainable manner, as the ancients did.

A relaxing and fun afternoon to learn to paint step by step alongside your friends!

All supplies provided for you to complete your own Mountain Sunset Trucker Hat with acrylic paints. No experience necessary! A variety of hat color choices will be available to choose from.

Aprons will be provided but clothing for painting in is suggested. Bring your own beverage to sip on.
